This was a studio version of the jacket signed by Luca, which I’m thankful for. He warned me that the arms wouldn’t be weathered so they’re bright teal color and I actually love that color; it makes the jacket unique and I have lipstick a little darker but almost that color for my Rocket hoodie from Her Universe, which I may or may not use while wearing this jacket as well.

I went with a men’s size 2XL; it’s less roomy than the men’s XL I have for the Red Hood blackout version, and fits about the same as the custom women’s size for the regular Red Hood, but also feels comfier at the same time. The sleeves are slightly roomier, though, so I think I could sneak in a sweater which I can’t do with my women’s size.

I went back to see if I’d missed that the jean materials - a weathered teal, lightteal for me - was fabric in the description and if it’s on the site, it’s easy to miss. It wouldn’t have deterred me from buying this, but my expectation was that it would all be sheepskin. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the fabric, which is a little stiffer than the leather, but after doing some errands, it’s actually really comfortable, to the point I didn’t notice. I have to admit at disappointment on first glance, but I’d urge people to go in knowing this and to give it a try if they like this design: it grew on me within minutes, and by the time a. 1/2 hour or so errand run was done, I didn't even notice. I’m not sure, but I suspect this will be warmer than my other two jackets, and so more comfortable to wear out and about in the middle of the winter as well.

As for the sheepskin, I love it on the blackout and it’s less pliable-feeling on this design: there are what I think of as musculature padding on the front, so while the sheepskin IS just as pliable, it’s over that, not over you/your clothes directly, so you can be tricked into thinking it’s not. I was amused by the padding at first, but find it charming as well. I missed the pliability until I didn’t, so I suspect it was my own expectations playing tricks on me as well.

The sleeves are the same length - which I knew going in because of the sizing charts - so they encompass my hands completely if I want. I think because of the fabric/sheepskin combo, they feel slightly less flexible - or may be - so it felt a little more awkward at first, but also possibly a little warmer; I’m looking forward to testing this out in the future.

I do miss the feeling of larger shoulders in 3XL, but also love the snugness in this size; I am torn as to which size I should continue purchasing in the future, although I want to try a sweater under this jacket before I decide.
